International Crisis Group: This is a worldwide think tank that monitors, analyzes, and suggests solutions to conflicts and humanitarian crises around the world.
Sudan Tribune: A non-profit website based in France, the
Sudan Tribune is a comprehensive source for all new stories related to Sudan. Its goals are “to promote plural information, democratic and free debate on Sudan.”
Gurtong: The Gurtong Peace Trust Project was created to connect the Sudanese diaspora for constructive discussion and the promotion of peace and stability at home and abroad. Gurtong offers comprehensive information on all cultural, social, political, humanitarian, and developmental issues related to Sudan.
Sudan Radio Service: SRS is Sudan's first independent broadcast provider of news and information provider. With programs in English, Arabic, and eight Sudanese languages, SRS aims to equip Sudanese listeners with the knowledge and tools to participate more effectively in peace-making, reconciliation, and development.
sudanreeves.org: Eric Reeves is a professor at Smith College and an expert Sudan researcher and analyst.

UNHCR
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees maintained the refugee camps at Pinyudo and Kakuma mentioned in
What Is the What. The agency is now working to help refugees return to their communities in southern Sudan and to make the reintegration process a safe and sustainable one.
Save the Children
When Valentino and Dave traveled to Sudan in 2003, they stayed in Save the Children’s compound in Marial Bai. Save the Children is involved in many efforts to aid the Sudanese who have suffered as a result of civil war and has been instrumental in bringing former slaves and abductees back to their villages of origin.
Concern
Valentino and Dave flew on a Concern cargo flight to Marial Bai in 2003. Concern brings food and supplies to war-ravaged areas. Their work in Sudan now focuses on nutrition, water sanitation, and shelter for people affected by the war.
International Rescue Committee
The IRC is a global relief network helping those affected by violence and oppression. They work with over 2.2 million people throughout Sudan and are actively involved in Darfur relief efforts as well as post-conflict relief and recovery in southern Sudan.
NESEI
The New Sudan Education Initiative, which was started by Abraham Awolich (a Sudanese Lost Boy) and two Americans in Winooski, Vermont. NESEI raises money to build schools in Sudan.
Water for Sudan
This organization drills fresh-water wells in villages throughout southern Sudan, in order to help prevent water-borne disease.
Genocide Intervention Network
GI-Net supports African Union peacekeepers currently on the ground in Sudan by channeling private donations into the resources they need and catalyzing government support for the peacekeepers.

ENOUGH
The ENOUGH project aims to end genocide and crimes against humanity. ENOUGH was founded to help galvanize the public and political leaders to effectively confront mass violence against innocent civilians. A joint project of the International Crisis Group and the Center for American Progress, ENOUGH’s initial efforts focus on Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and northern Uganda. They also have a
news blog to unite, strengthen, and inform grassroots activists and advocates.
Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children
An important expert resource and advocacy organization, the Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children works with refugee women, children and youth in many countries, including Sudan. It monitors their care and protection, and advocates to ensure their rights to governments, UN agencies and international nongovernmental organizations. Save Darfur
The SDC includes more than 170 organizations working toward more international involvement in combating the killing in Darfur. They work to raise awareness in the media and direct pressure toward policy makers.
STAND
With over 600 college and high-school chapters, STAND: A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition is one of the largest grassroots efforts to promote effective student action against the genocide in Darfur. They have sponsored a number of Valentino and Dave's speaking events and have a great outreach network.
OurPledge
An initiative of Americans Against the Darfur Genocide (AADG), OurPledge is a portal of Sudan-related resources geared towards advocacy and activism.
San Francisco Bay Area Darfur Coalition
An alliance of San Francisco Bay Area organizations and individuals working to end war and genocide in Sudan, the SFBADC organizes Darfur activists and generates action. They coordinate the annual rally "Global Day for Darfur."
Sudan Divestment Task Force
Divestment in the global companies who do business in Sudan is one strategy aimed at ending the conflict in Darfur. The Task Force coordinates dozens of "targeted divestment" campaigns around the world, and tracks the progress of numerous states, cities, universities, and companies that have active divestment campaigns. They even offer a screening tool to examine your own investments.
U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI)
USCRI addresses the needs and rights of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide by advancing fair and humane public policy, facilitating and providing direct professional services, and promoting the full participation of migrants in community life.
