Valentino at Clinton Global Initiative meeting
On Wednesday, September 26, Valentino participated in a panel discussion entitled “Promise of Education in Conflict and Post-Conflict Situations” at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting in New York City. Moderated by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, the panel discussed the challenges of providing education in conflict and post-conflict areas, and how one can effectively deliver education to those who need it the most. Other panelists included the Minister of Education for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammed Haneef Atmar; Co-Chair of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, Angelina Jolie; and President of the Republic of Colombia, Álvaro Uribe. The Foundation’s participation at the CGI Annual Meeting provided us with an exciting opportunity to share ideas and form partnerships with global leaders in education, business, and the non-profit sector.
