Valentino’s spring speaking tour

In March, Valentino Deng finished a ten-city speaking tour across the U.S., visiting schools, universities, churches, and community groups. He talked about his collaboration with Dave Eggers to write What Is the What, his return to Sudan to establish the first high school in Northern Bhar el Gazal State, and the efforts he is taking to help send children to schools in Southern Sudan.

Below is a list of the cities where Valentino spoke at events. We’re sorry if you missed him in your area; if you’d like to learn about future events, please sign up for our mailing list. You’ll also receive updates from our new high school and educational center in Marial Bai, and information about the current state of affairs in Southern Sudan.

Through speaking engagements and other advocacy efforts, the Valentino Achak Deng Foundation seeks to help educate the public and policy makers on the situation in Sudan. Valentino is a highly sought-after public speaker who has traveled the country and spoken internationally to share his story. He is now represented by the Lavin Agency, a leading speakers bureau that represents notable speakers like Salman Rushdie and Isabel Allende.
